Workforce

M&D is a proud Union Contractor with access to large numbers of highly skilled craftsmen. Craftsmen are obtained through the appropriate Local Union hiring halls. The Company is an active participant in the NACBE Common Arc program and currently more than 1,600 Welders are certified with M&D in accordance with our stringent ASME procedures.

The Company is signatory to the National Maintenance Agreement with Boilermakers, Carpenters, Laborers, Operating Engineers and the United Association, as well as appropriate Local Agreements.

M&D is signatory to and holds a Committee seat on the Powerhouse Maintenance Agreement for Alabama Power and Georgia Power projects. The Company is a member of the National Association of Construction Boilermaker Employers, as well as The Association of Union Contractors.

A record of undesirable employees is maintained on a "Not for Rehire" list. All potential employees are screened prior to hiring so that the quality of our workforce is maintained at the highest level possible.

M&D maintains a positive relationship with all of our signatory unions and its respective personnel. As a result we are able to assure that we can provide a skilled, productive workforce that is capable of producing a quality product for our clients.
